kurts x OBI

Two strong brands that will shape the #DIY market of the future.

New year, new opportunities. Attention doers: we are now collaborating with the OBI Group Holding!

There are three megatrends that come together in our business model: Individualisation (Do It Yourself), Neo-Ecology (Sharing Economy), Seamless Commerce (Speed Shopping) - or in short: Experience Economy! Our friends from Obi Baumarkt, with whom we are collaborating from now on, know this too! In mid-December, we started with a Cube station at a test market in Cologne. Two more City-Stations will start soon in the city centre. Together we are setting standards in the tool rental of the future. Since Christmas 2021, over 150 professional tools can be rented easily via our app in the car park of the shop in Cologne-Marsdorf - and if something is still missing and it is not just after the shop has closed, remaining accessories can be purchased directly in the DIY store. The assortment in our toolboxes is based 100% on the needs of our target group and is adapted seasonally. To do this, we make smart use of historical data and real-time feedback from our app users.

The collaboration is scheduled for approximately twelve months. The goals are clearly defined: Improve the customer experience and increase the conversion rate. Our new CEO, Benjamin Ferreau, says: "We are very excited about this collaboration with the leading DIY store in Germany - we are digital, disruptive and customer-oriented and we will now also prove this in Cologne with OBI".

For OBI Group Holding, this test in Cologne could be groundbreaking for the rental business of the future. The DIY expert is also interested in better understanding the needs of customers, for which our digital business model is predestined. For us at kurts, the collaboration is a great opportunity to continue learning from a professional in the market and to open up a new city. Where the collaboration leads to will be shown by the joint cooperation - but for our team it is already clear: there is no way around our tool sharing platform in the future. More also on: https://kurts.obi.de/
